There are two reasons why Skylake-X’s thermals were bad. Another reason the 7900X reaches boiling point temperatures is due to its extreme power requirements, particularly once the unlocked chip has been overclocked....

We’re not sure if this is something you’re going to see others reporting or if it was just an issue we ran into with our particular hardware configuration. We’ve come across a test done by Guru3D which shows up to a 33% reduction in performance with the Samsung SSD 960 Pro 2TB NVMe drive and this was for a 4KB queue depth of 32 test, so that’s somewhat in line with what we saw....
The write results are even more incredible. Adding a second Pyro boosted 128k results from 500MB/s to 878MB/s.
According to the latest forecast from International Data Corporation’s Worldwide Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker, PC shipments will decline 12.8 percent this year to 305.3 million units. Shipments of tablets, meanwhile, are forecast to fall 6.8 percent to 156.8 million. Slowing consumer demand is expected to creep into 2023 as well, with the combined market for PCs and tablets to slide 2.6 percent over the course of next year before returning to growth in 2024....
The chip shortage is far from over. This workload uses a trace of importing an collection of 68 images (434MB) from a USB stick to Windows Live Photo Gallery. Recording activity on the system drive started when we began importing pictures and lasted until thumbnail images appeared on the display. During the trace Windows Live Photo Gallery copied images from USB stick to Pictures library, indexed them and created thumbnails. Here the Plextor M6e was able to match the Vertex 460 while the M6M and M6S were slightly slower....

The latest Core i7 and Core i5 processors were able to extract the most performance out of the GeForce GTX Titan X at 1080p, resulting in an average frame rate of between 67 and 72fps. The AMD FX-9590 was capped at 60fps making it 1fps faster than the old Core i5-2500K. Meanwhile the Core i3-4130 was good for 48fps, making it just 3fps slower than the FX-8350. Overclocking the Core i7-4770K didn’t help squeezing more performance out of the GeForce GTX Titan X, while reducing the clock speed to just 2....
In a recent interview with Android Authority, Heape said that in terms of getting towards the image quality of a DSLR, he thinks the image sensor is capable enough and the amount of innovation that is going into mobile image sensors is faster and more advanced than what is happening in the rest of the imaging industry. Released in March 2017, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands is a demanding open world title, but at 1080p we saw respectable frame rates using the very high quality preset. Once again the RX 580 was just a few frames faster than the RX 480, here we see a 5% bump from what is essentially a mild factory overclock. The 9Gbps GTX 1060 is even more underwhelming though the standard GTX 1060 was still able to best the RX 580 in this title....
There’s no doubting this is a premium laptop, and that’s reflected by the $1500 price tag, however Razer does give you top-end hardware for that price: the 8550U and 16GB of RAM are standard, as is the high resolution display, while other laptops cut back with their entry level models. As an alternative, last year’s Blade Stealth which is very similar but slower, is still being sold for around $1250....
Razer and Qualcomm announced a dev kit for the handheld last December, but there was no mention of Verizon’s involvement at the time. It’s a straightforward set up, so let’s quickly go over the system specs and jump into the results. All CPUs were configured with 32GB of DDR4-3200 CL14 dual-rank, dual-channel memory. For the AM4 platform we used the MSI X570 Unify motherboard, while Intel’s LGA1200 platform used the Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Master and the Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Ultra for LGA1151. All boards were running the latest BIOS revision available. For the graphics card we’re using a Radeon RX 6900 XT with all CPUs cooled using the Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix liquid cooler....
