The SiSoftware Sandra bandwidth test showed a slight increase when testing with the Phenom II X4 965 compared to the Phenom II X4 955. The bandwidth of the Phenom II X4 965 is now twice that of the Core 2 Quad Q9650 at over 13GB/s.
The Sandra processor arithmetic test saw little difference between the two Phenoms. The Core 2 Quad Q9650 has the edge in this test.
The Sandra multimedia results show a different reality as the Phenom II X4 series is far superior to the Core 2 Quad Q9650. While the multimedia float performance of the Phenom II X4 965 was slower compared to the Core i7 940, the multimedia int performance was actually greater.
The AMD Phenom processors have always shown poor inter-core bandwidth, whereas this is something the Core i7 series is particularly good at.
