The MSI GTX 1050 2G OC and GTX 1050 Ti 4G OC have been fitted with some of the smallest heatsinks you’ll see on a gaming graphics card. Despite that, both of them run at very reasonable temperatures while generating very little noise. Impressive stuff and this is a testament to just how little power these graphics cards consume.
The GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti used roughly the same amount of power in our Core i7 test machine and unsurprisingly both burned less power than anything previously tested. That said, the RX 460 only consumed slightly more power in The Witcher 3 making all three very efficient.
The 1050-series remained rather power-conscious in Call of Duty: Black Ops III, with the snappier GTX 1050 Ti consuming 8 watts less than the RX 460.
Finally, we see similar numbers when testing with Just Cause 3. Even when paired with an overclocked Core i7 processor those graphics cards don’t push entire system consumption over 150 watts.
