First we looked at the read performance of each drive using Atto Disk with a sample data range of 4KB through to 128KB. From 4KB to 16KB the OCZ Summit was the second fastest SSD, coming second only to the Intel X25-M. From 32KB to 128KB the Summit is beaten by the Vertex, making it the third fastest SSD tested. This is interesting as the Summit appears to read smaller data blocks faster, while the Vertex is much quicker with the bigger stuff.
The OCZ Summit demonstrates decent write performance when testing with the Atto Disk benchmark. Regardless of the data block size, the Summit is able to have its way delivering significantly better performance than most of the pack.
