According to Croley’s tweet, the mammoth GPU was tested against Microsoft’s well-known New Technology LAN Manager (NTLM) authentication protocol as well as the Bcrypt password-hacking function. All of the tests were conducted using Hashcat v6.2.6 in benchmark mode. Hashcat is a well-known and widely used password-cracking tool used by system administrators, cybersecurity professionals, and cybercriminals to test or guess user passwords. Based on the benchmark findings, a fully outfitted password hashing rig with eight RTX 4090 GPUs would have the computing power to cycle through all 200 billion iterations of an eight-character password in 48 minutes....

Sega announced the bundle nearly a year ago as part of the blue mascot’s 30th anniversary celebration. Sonic Origins was to originally include five games: Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic CD, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles. Sony’s latest earnings report shows it shipped 3.9 million units during the holiday quarter, marking only a slight increase over the previous quarter’s 3.3 million units. As of December 31, 17.3 million PlayStation 5 consoles had been shipped in total, almost three million fewer than what the PlayStation 4 had managed during the same period after it launched. As a result, Sony’s gaming division generated 813.3 billion yen ($7.09 billion) in revenue, down from 883....

Sony just unveiled the Xperia 5 IV, a more compact version of its flagship phone released earlier this year. It’s not tiny at 156mm x 67mm x 8.2mm, but it is smaller than most modern phones, making it a great alternative to the Samsung Galaxy S22 or the Asus Zenfone 9. Up front, there’s a 6.1-inch 1,080 x 2,520 OLED display sitting underneath a pane of Gorilla Glass Victus. It has a 120Hz maximum refresh rate and can reportedly get up to 50 percent brighter than the previous Xperia 5 series....

Compared to these 1440p devices, the X Performance boasts 60% better on-screen performance due to the lower resolution. The Adreno 530 is already capable of playing all the latest Android games at 1440p, so I didn’t experience any real in-game performance advantage at 1080p. However, if more graphically intense games get released in the next few years, the X Performance will be more suited to tackle them than its 1440p competitors....

As per Bloomberg, the Taiwan Ministry of Finance announced that its export of IC chips rose 18.4% from a year earlier, continuing a trend that has been unbroken since 2016.
