This is where we found the performance of Intel’s SSD 750 Series 1.2TB to be troubling as it delivers terribly slow 1K, 2K, 8K and even 32K read performance starting out at just 19MB/s, making it much slower than a budget SATA SSD. The Samsung SM951 doesn’t suffer from the same small size file performance starting at 73MB/s when working with 1K data. The SM951 quickly jumps up to 301MB/s for the 2K data test and then a graph-busting 659MB/s for the 8K test.
Although the Intel SSD 750 Series 1.2TB gets moving quicker when measuring write performance with Atto Disk Benchmark, it’s for the most part outclassed by the Samsung SM951.
